Secondary two adventure camp

Deep within each and everyone's heart, we all have fears. We may be afraid of heights, water activities or even darkness .However, have you ever thought of overcoming all your fears with courage?

On the 6th of May 2008, I boldly took my first step out to overcome my fear. I went for a secondary two adventure camp which is a period of four day three nights with my classmates. To me, this camp is very memorable and I would want to share with you......

On the first day of camp, each and everyone of us carried an anxious and excited mood, looking forward to the activities that we will be doing. To start off, we designed a class flag together and formed a class cheer, to represent our class. Soon, we started on the high elements, such as broken bridge and walking on the log. Each and everyone of us took turns and we felt a sense of satisfaction every time we overcome our fears.

On the second day, we were given the chance to kayak. We had a great time kayaking together .We did rafting in the sea and we were challenged by our instructors to stand up on our kayak to sing songs and shouting our class cheers. To stand up, we got to balance by holding the hands of our friends that were at our sides .This has enable me to know that as a class ,we got to lean against one another for strength and trust is also needed.

On the third day, we did high walls and abseiling, these enables us to be united as a class in order to achieved success .I had realized that friends should help one another when we were in need and I had learnt that we got to cheer and encourage one another. At that night, we had campfire and everyone was happy as we get to perform our Indian dance.

On the last day, everyone as exhausted, but as we were departing, i felt that this camp has really bonded us together as one, and it teaches us resilience and most importantly to take the first step out. We had become more enthusiastic and united now. Overall, I would want to encourage my fellow classmates to go for this camp and it had benefited me much, making me a better person.
